Crafting the perfect CV is no small feat – it’s an art! 🎨 With countless CVs crossing my desk each day, I’ve picked up a few tips that really make a difference.

  1. Tailor, Don’t Just Copy: Each application should be unique. Customise your CV to match the job description, highlighting how your experience compliments their needs. It shows attention to detail and genuine interest.

  1. Keep It Concise: Aim for 2 pages preferably, but 3 pages tops. Employers want to see the highlights, not your life story.

  1. Use Action Words: Words like ‘achieved’, ‘designed’, and ‘led’ make your accomplishments pop! It paints you as proactive and impactful.

  1. Quantify Achievements: Numbers catch the eye. “Increased sales by 30%” conveys much more than “responsible for increasing sales.”

  1. Professional Layout: A clean, well-organised CV reflects you as a candidate. No fancy fonts or colours, keep it readable.

  1. Proofread: Typos can be a dealbreaker. Always double-check!

The job market in the UK is highly competitive. According to ONS, the employment rate was 75.3% in late 2024, which means we’re all competing with a lot of skilled people!

Time to polish that CV! ✨
